The concept of free to play RPGs might sound a little weird, but sometimes it works. Etheria: Restart is an upcoming JRPG that draws inspiration from Genshin Impact and similar games and takes the fight to cyberspace. It will feature several modes, including a 2-player online co-op mode called "Phantom Theater." The PC version of Etheria: Restart launches on June 5.
In the futuristic world of Etheria: Restart, the planet has become uninhabitable. To preserve the species, the remaining population transfers their minds into the virtual world of Etheria. Things don't go smoothly from there, however, as a neighboring species in the virtual world becomes corrupted and starts to attack humans. Only heroes called Hyperlinkers can save the people of the virtual world.

You can team up with another player to conquer bosses that have different elements and you have to counter that and their mechanics. There are 3 bosses - one you have to tackle alone, the second will be tackled by your friend and the third boss you tackle together. Though keep in mind that the battles here are auto-only, so you have to make sure the team you use works well without manual input. The more damage you and your friend will do, the better the rating you will receive which translates to better rewards!
Also, have no fear! If your friends aren't online, you can use the matchmaking feature to be paired with other players.
You can challenge the bosses daily and do it unlimited amount of times - only your highest score will count for the daily rewards. To make things interesting, every week the formation of bosses will update, forcing you to adjust your teams.
It's certainly encouraging that Etheria: Restart will arrive with co-op right out of the gate. Will it offer a compelling team experience? It won't cost anything to find out. The game will be supported by gacha pulls, but we've heard that the pull rate is quite fair compared to other gacha games.
Etheria: Restart will debut on PC, Android, and iOS on Thursday, June 5. The Steam version will follow sometime thereafter. Players can pre-register for bonus rewards at Etheria.XD.com.
